The Blink Floodlight Camera was straightforward to set up and offered the flexibility to position it anywhere outside my home, such as above the garage or tucked beneath the roofline. Its wireless nature was a major plus. The LED lighting was sufficiently bright, and I appreciated the customization options for brightness and light duration upon motion detection. My primary gripe was the reliance on batteries; a solar panel option would have been a cherry on top. However, a week in, the batteries are holding strong.

As a seasoned Blink user, I found the addition of the Blink Video Doorbell to be a mostly positive enhancement to my home security setup. The installation was made easier with the "wedge" accessory, although the back plate felt a bit flimsy. Having an old-school wired doorbell, the power setup was fairly straightforward. Motion detection, unfortunately, seems limited by its reliance on camera-based detection which can be easily triggered by changes in lighting. The video quality was commendable, and the wide-angle lens provided extensive coverage. The chime's sound was adequate, but may not suffice for larger households or when noise levels are high. My main concerns are the lack of constant lighting around the doorbell button and the absence of the advanced motion detection found in other Blink cameras.

After purchasing the 3 Camera system to cover my Garage/Driveway, Front Door/Porch, and Rear Deck/Door, I found the system satisfactory but not perfect. Setting up and installing the cameras was manageable, but might pose challenges for those not well-versed with technology. My primary concerns were the Motion Detection range, which is approximately 8 feet even at its maximum setting, and the camera mounting stems, which limit the angle of adjustment when mounted on vertical surfaces. A dual ball/socket design for the stem would offer better flexibility. While I appreciate the features offered, these limitations make it a 4-star experience for me.
